The Bisbee Police Beat May - June 2018

Bisbee4fun.com would like to thank the Bisbee Observer for providing this Bisbee Police Department activity log. As they say "you can't make this stuff up". • May 25 –– A woman reported that a shed on her property on Bisbee Road had been pried open. A man said someone with a dog was sleeping by the Baptist church and classrooms. Someone investigating a hazard said people were complaining about an odor, saying it might be from a dead body in an abandoned house on A caller co

Attend Bisbee Pride with My Son (Again)? Absolutely!

I attended Bisbee Pride with my son and husband for the second time this past weekend and it was just as wonderful as the first trip. We were worried about the rain in the forecast. But it didn’t rain on our parade, literally. It drizzled a little Friday night, but come parade time Saturday morning, the rain stopped and the crowds came out to celebrate and have fun and the beautiful weather remained for the rest of the weekend. Here’s what I love about Bisbee Pride: it’s not
Stock Exchange Saloon and Grill a staple of Bisbee history

Stock Exchange Saloon and Grill a staple of Bisbee history

By: Mathew Reveles: My Local News BISBEE, Ariz. – It may be hard to imagine Arizona as a financial hub during its early years as a state. However, that is exactly what it became for a time in the state’s early history, thanks in large part to the “Noble Experiment” and the building at 15 Brewery Avenue in Bisbee. Built in 1905, the building originally housed Brewery Saloon, built and owned by Joseph M. Muheim. When prohibition rescinded all liquor licenses in Arizona in 1914,

Ahead of Bisbee’s Pythian Castle renovation, a brief history of Knights of Pythias

By: Mathew Revels: BISBEE, Ariz. (Originally Feb 1,2016) In 2015, Alfred X. Strati began working to renovate the historic Pythian Castle at 29 Ok Street in Bisbee. Prior to the effort to revitalize the building, the castle had most recently been used as apartments, following several decades of neglect. However, the space was originally created for the purpose of providing a meeting place for the Order of Knights of Pythias, a fraternal organization with chapters across the c

Bisbee’s Vietnamese Gem: Thuy’s Noodle Shop.

Believe it or not, some of the best restaurants in Arizona are actually not located in Scottsdale or Phoenix. Really! Matter of fact, some of Arizona’s smaller towns and cities are where you’ll find the hidden gems that don’t often make it into the major newspaper reviews or foodie magazines. If you’re lucky, you’ll hear about them through word of mouth or stumble upon them while searching for a place to eat on places like Yelp and TripAdvisor. Such is the case with Thuy’s No

Attend Bisbee Pride as a family? Absolutely!

Attending a gay pride festival as part of a family vacation? It doesn’t exactly top the popular list of family plans for summer travel. But I write from experience when I say that it’s actually a great way to bring your family together and experience something entirely different. Our family attended Bisbee Pride 2016 this past weekend and had a fabulous time. If you’re not familiar with pride festivals and parades, they are typically held in cities and towns around the US and
Hike to Bisbee’s Cross Shrine – Great Exercise and a Great View

Hike to Bisbee’s Cross Shrine – Great Exercise and a Great View

By: Nancy Puffer I love exploring Arizona’s hidden treasures, the things you won’t find right off the highway that aren’t overrun with tourists. My family and I love to take frequent trips to Bisbee because you’ll find hidden gems all over town, including all varieties of art, antiques, magic shows, Arizona’s Smallest Bar, Arizona’s oldest bar, and of course the music which never seems to stop or be on a specific schedule. From sun up to sun down (and beyond), you’ll almost a

Trump’s Bisbee, AZ Mar-A-Wallgo T Shirt proceeds to help Mexico pay for the Wall

At My Local News we want to do all that we can to help Mexico pay for the wall, as President Trump has promised the American People again and again will happen. That’s why we will donate two Pesos for every shirt sold to the Mexican Citizens for a Better Wall Committee. Our modest goal is to sell one t-shirt for every one of the 7.125 Billion people on earth. Yes, some would argue that providing food, shelter and potable water is a higher priority than Mar-A-Wallgo t-shirt sa

Video: New Bisbee Border Resort Hailed as Crown Jewel of Trump Dynasty

In what will likely be the crown jewel of the Trump dynasty, officials from Arizona, Mexico and the Trump Organization recently announced a collaborative private-public partnership to break ground on a massive ultra-luxury resort straddling the U.S. Mexico Border south of Bisbee. Net proceeds from the resort will help pay for construction, completion and ongoing maintenance of the 1,951 mile-long US/Mexico border wall. President Donald Trump proposed the bi-national resort as

Baazar Comida Bisbee: A 5-Star Dining Experience on the Cusp of Two Countries

By: Ari Alexander | With plans moving forward for the new Trump hotel, Mar-a-Wallgo, extravagant fine dining experiences are also in the works. One the the most anticipated new eateries will be a cross-border concept called Baazar Comida, which will be owned and operated by award-winning five-star chef, Jose Andres. Andres, who owns a handful of award-winning restaurants around the U.S. has decided to bring a creative blending of fresh flavors from both American and Mexican c

A Divided Bisbee – Trailer Debate Ignites Colorful Council Meetings

For the past week or so, I’ve been following a series of very fascinating, if not downright entertaining, videos sent to us from a reader in Bisbee. The lady who sent us these videos, Alison McLeod, is chronicling a very intriguing saga that’s got the entire town in an uproar, pitting neighbor against neighbor. As with anything in Bisbee, it involves something quite quirky – and colorful. Yellow to be exact. And it’s got residents sporting yellow at city council meetings – ev

Ma- A-Wallgo- Bisbee to Offer Golf, ATV Tours, and Simulated Border Patrols

By: Robert Isenberg | As President Donald Trump prepares to open his flagship border resort, Mar-a-Wallgo, hundreds have already signed up for the hotel’s expansive tour and excursion packages, which promise a rich outdoor experience in the Sonoran wilds. “I just can’t wait to get my hands on one of them gold-plated ATV’s,” said Benson McGillicutty, a 52-year-old coal lobbyist from Atlanta, Georgia. “All that desert ain’t gonna look the same once I done tore it up.” Platinu
